Abstract
Dacrocystorhinostomy (DCR) is the operation of choice to relief epiphora due to primary acquired nasolacrimal duct obstruction(PANDO). DCR can be approached by one of three methods; the endoscopic endonasal approach, the external technique and the transcanalicular approach.In this study, thirty patients complaining of epiphora due to primary acquired nasolacrimal duct obstruction were Included; ten cases were operated upon with the conventional endoscopic endonasal DCR (groupII) and were considered as a control group and the other twenty cases were operated upon using the same steps of the conventional endoscopic DCR with application of radiofrequency and mitomycin intraoperatively to the anastomosis side ( group I).
