Abstract The present study represents a piece of an experimental nature on theoritical basis. The results obtained from the present investigations are of industrials importance, they are to be applied in hydrogenation-dehydrogenation process used in nuclear technology. The present study is an extension for a series of works and aims to add a new catalytic systems to those produced and improved before. The choice of metal oxides promoter suitable to support nickel is based on theoritical and experimental aspects. Nickel based catalyst promoted with chromium oxide proved to be suitable for hydrogenation- dehydrogenation process. Several experimental trials were carried out to choice other metal oxides to obtain the most suitable one. The selection of different metal oxides depends on scientific basis. In the present study, several catalysts of different composition representing these systems were prepared by co-precipitation technique. Nitrates were used as the most suitable starting materials to produce three catalytic systems namely: Ni/Cr 0 / Fe 0 , Ni/cr 0 /CoO and Ni/Cr 0 /MnO 013 013 013 013 The nature and characteristics of these different catalysts were studied by complexometric analysis, infra red spectroscopic analysis, differential thermal analysis, thermogravimeteric analysis and by X-ray diffraction pattern, which emphase that nickel present in crystalline form but other metal oxide promoters in amorphus character.” Surface characteristics of the catalyst including the specific surface area, the pore volume and pore radius were performed. The a.c. conductivity results obtained. |
