Abstract This study carried out in Bani-Zeid village which lies 12 km northeast to Assiut City. The main objectives of this study was to determine the presvalence of coronary heart disease (CHD) among adult, population aged 40 years and more in a rural area of Assiut Governorate, to study the risk factors for CHD, and to identify the mortality ratios attributed to CHD. This study started since July 1994 till the end of 1997. A cross-sectional study of inhabitants aged 40 years or above. In addition a prospective study for two years to explore the mortality pattern. Bani-Zeid village was mapped, the houses were numbered and the individuals were listed with their ages. |
