Abstract This study included sixty-nine patients with cut both flexor tendons within the digital canal. A total of 74 injured fingers constituted the material of this study. All the patients were treated by flexor tendon grafting. and were managed postoperatively by either early controlled motion or immobilisation for 4 weeks. The age incidence ranged between 3 and 65 years with a peak incidence in the first three decades. Males were affected in 58.1% of the cases and the right side was affected in 55.4% of the cases. The most commonly injured finger was the middle finger (40.5%). and the site of tendon injury within the digital canal was more common in the palmar portion of the canal (52.7%). The injury was commoner among heavy manual workers (33.8%). Injury was caused by a sharp injury in more than 74% of the fingers. Various types of digital nerve affection were present in 33.8% of the cases. |
