Abstract The study included one hundred and one patients suffering from different types of genital tract tumours, and fifty normal females as controls. from each patient preoperative and postoperative (one week) blood and urinary samples were taken for detection of serum α-L-fucosidase enzyme activity and urinary fucosides material. In ovarian carcinoma patients, tissue specimens were taken for detection of α-L-fucosidase enzyme activity and CA125 level, in addition to blood samples for detection of serum CA125 in the same group. Results: 1- Ovarian carcinoma patients have lower mean activity of serum α-L-fucosidase enzyme activity when compared with controls (184.71±9.49 vs.380.99±10.86, p>0.001) while endometrial carcinoma patients have higher mean activity of serum enzyme when compared with controls. |
