Abstract
This study aimed at creation of a competent information system in the Clinical
Oncology Department Outpatient Clinic - Alexandria University, as a base for
improved management of cancer patients.
The work started by analysis of the manual system in the Outpatient Clinic
followed by design of the desired system. A sample of sheets was analyzed to evaluate
the changes and feedback during change over, after that actual running of that new
system, final evaluation of the new system was conducted.
It has been found that the introduction of a computerized information system for
the Outpatient Clinic of Clinical Oncology Department has much improved patient flow
in the clinic, quality of data and health staff performance.
The computer system has assisted both administratively as well as technically .
