Abstract Chromosomal abnormalities play a major role in the diagnosis of myeloid diseases. Study chromosomal changes is important in acute myeloid leukemia causing either balanced or unbalanced chromosomal changes. It was reported that deletion (20q) is a noval and rare recurrent chromosomal abnormality that specifically associated with myeloid disease and may indicates poor prognosis. In our work, FISH technique was used to detect (20q12) deletion in eleven AML patients and five age and sex matched normal individuals as control group. |
