Abstract

Peptic ulcer and colitis ulcerative were the most prevalent gastrointestinal disease ever known; it affects more than 15% of the world’s population. This disease is mainly treated using western medicine, but these drugs (anti inflammation) possess side effects and the gastric ulcer often recurs. Therefore, the use of natural products has gained the interest of many researchers, at also showed its dates and coconut fruits were promoted as healthy benefits, and effect medicine on gastric ulcer Consequently, The present study was designed to investigate some chemical composition, Sensory evaluation and Storage assessment of date powder biscuit(DPB) and virgin coconut oil (VCOB), and effect date powder(DP) ,virgin coconut oil (VCO), date powder biscuit , VCO biscuit and mix (DPB and VCOB) on peptic ulcer and colitis ulcer in rat. This work was carried out two experiment, the first is a curative experience contain on (48) healthy adult Albino male rats of Sprague – Dawley strain weighting (180 ± 10 g) of 8 groups,(6 rats each), the first group rats were fed on basal diet only control negative(-ve) group and seven groups which induced colitis ulcer by (Acetic acid ) After overnight fasting, intrarectal administration of single dose of AA (1 ml/ rat 4% AA). and induced peptic ulcer by (piroxicam 30mg/kg) reclassified into non-treated control positive (+ve) group (fed on basal diet only), group treated with (20 mg/kg BW) of drug (Omeprazole), group treated with powdered dates are given (200gm/kg/BD). group treated with (2 ml per/ rat) daily of virgin coconut oil, group treated with date biscuit are given (200gm/kg/BD)., group treated with coconut oil biscuit are given (200gm/kg/BD). Diet and mix biscuit treated group for 60 days. While the second is preventative experience contain (36) healthy adult Albino male rats of Sprague–Dawley strain, of 6 groups, (6 rats each). the first group rats were fed on basal diet only control negative (-ve) group, group protected with powdered dates are given (200 gm./kg BD).group protected with (2 ml per/ rat) daily of virgin coconut oil , group protected date biscuit are given 5% from BD , group protected coconut oil biscuit are given (200 gm /kg BD) and mix biscuit (200gm/kg BD) treated group for 30 days. The results revealed that Sensory evaluation and Storage assessment its highest levels(Color ,Taste ,Smell ,Texture and Acceptability) in the formula DPB 30% and formula VCOB 25% , accordingly, these percentages were chosen for chemical testing and their effect on mice with stomach and colon ulcers ,The results revealed that in treatment experiment, the control (+ve) group showed a significant decrease in Wight gain(WG), Food Efficiency Ratio( FER) ,catalase CAT , supper superoxide dismutase SOD, glutathione reduced (GSH), glutathione reeducates (GSR), glutathione peroxidase (GPX) and glutathione-S-transferees(GST) but a significant increase in Food intake(FI), relative organ heart, kidney, liver, Malondialdehyde (MDA), hydrogen peroxide(H2O2) C-reactive protein(CRP), interleulin-6 (IL-6) and Prostaglandin(PG2) levels compared with normal control(-).while showed in (DP,VCO,DPB VCOB and mix biscuit) significant decrease in (FI),(relative organ stomach, heart, kidney, liver),( MDA) ,(H2O2),(CRP),(IL-6) and (PG2) levels but significant increase in (FER),(CAT),(SOD),(GSH),(GSR),(GPx) and (GST) levels compared with non-treated control(+ve). However, the results revealed that in protected experience, (DP,VCO,DPB VCOB and mix biscuit groups showed non-significant difference in (WG),(CAT) and(GSH) but significant decrease in (MDA) and (H2O2) while showed the levels(CRP,IL-6,PG2,FI,GPx,GSR and relative organ liver) between non-significant difference and significant decrease compared with normal control(-ve). The histopathological results showed positive effect on inflammation and ulcers in the treatment experiment ,also the appearance of the stomach and colon naturally in the preventive experiment. It can be concluded that, the administration of the dates and virgin coconut oil, date powder biscuit and virgin coconut oil biscuit can lower the side effects of acetic acid induced peptic ulcer and colitis ulcerative rats and reducing the risk factors for gastric ulcer.
